Amidst the drastic changes that have occurred all over the world and the fast paced tempo of our every day lives, some familiar forms and voices that were part of this life have vanished.
Small business owners, workers, sales persons who were roaming the neighbourhoods broadcasting their goods, are gone once and for all. And even though human ingenuity was able to replace these 'services' with something else more modern, it was not able to replace the human contact and warmth. These wage earners, who were working in Time's workshop and were bringing their goods to our doorsteps with their smiles and their characteristic voices, they are still quaint and alive in our memories. This book is in honour of their strenuous work and a thank you for enhancing our lives with their presence.
